About the Stewardship Monitoring Project
Clackamas Stewardship Partners (CSP) is an informal group of diverse interests working with the Clackamas River Ranger District on the Mt. Hood National Forest. We have partnered together to develop a landscape approach and creative solutions to forest restoration and improvement
of riparian, wildlife, and upland habitats in our watersheds through the use of Stewardship Contracting. Our vision is to Enhance ecosystem health and economic viability of local communities within the Clackamas River Watershed. We are committed to a collaborative process that employs stewardship contracting and other innovative tools to meet restoration goals.
We developed this monitoring system so we can ensure the goals of CSP are being met. Monitoring is a process that allows stakeholders to:
- Build trust and relationships,
- Promote mutual learning and collaborative agreements,
- Identify conflicting issues that need to be monitored in order to proactively address them,
- Experiment and adapt new approaches to land management.
This website organizes projects by the title of each stewardship contract, as well as the associated planning document, individual activity (e.g., thinning, road closure, culvert replacement, etc.), and survey. The website allows any member of the public to sign up as a volunteer and survey projects. Please peruse the website and feel free to contact us with any questions.
