Description:

Project #005 - Tree Inoculation for Wildlife Snag Creation

This conservation project requires services for the climbing and insertion of inoculum dowels into trees.  Trees to be innoculated are in partially harvested young plantations or in un-harvested riparian reserves.  This project work will be done within the boundaries of the units of the K9 Thin timber sale or in the un-treated riparian reserves directly adjacent to the units. The boundaries of these units will be designated with blue timber harvest signs, orange tree tags and white paint.

*Due to safety issues or natural variation in stand sizes, there may be instances where inoculation would need to occur above or below this range.  Trees chosen for inoculation should be representative of the largest DBH’s of the stand, excluding residual old-growth.

** Do not place all treated trees in one skip.  Scatter them throughout all of the skips present in the unit.
