Project 001 - Road Decommissioning and Storm Proofing
This Stewardship project requires services for the contractor to remove aggregate & decompact roads, construct drainage structures, close roads, and apply erosion control materials as listed herein and identified on the contract area map. Work consists of decommissioning 7.6 miles of road on the Clackams River and Zig Zag Ranger Districts, Mt. Hood National Forest, and stormproofing 1.55 miles of road on the Clackamas River Ranger District. Decommissioning involves removal of aggregate, excavation of culverts, stream channel restoration, decompaction of road surfaces, cross-ditching (drainage structures), outsloping, seeding, fertilizing & mulching exposed soils, disposing of excavated culverts, and blocking vehicular access with berms or barriers. Stormproofing involves constructing and improving driveable drainage structures on open roads at two locations, and reshaping a ditchline and installing a French Drain at one location.
