Road Closure and Decommission

(Activity: Road Closure)

Stewardship Contract:
Description:

Project #007 - Road Cosure and Decommissioning

This Stewardship project requires services for the Contractor to remove aggregate & decompact a portion of one (1) road, construct drainage structures, close roads, and apply erosion control materials as listed herein and identified on the contract area map. Work consists of decommissioning 800 feet of road, and stormproofing and closing three (3) roads on the Clackamas River Ranger District, Mt. Hood National Forest.  Decommissioning involves removal of aggregate, decompaction of road surfaces, cross-ditching (drainage structures), outsloping, seeding, fertilizing & mulching exposed soils, and blocking vehicular access with berms or barriers.  Stormproofing involves constructing and/or improving drainage structures on roads to be closed.  Closing roads involves constructing a series of berms, or barriers made of natural material (rock, logs, etc.) at road entrances in locations where topography facilitates closure.
